Leslie and Brian knew “of” each other in high school, but it was a few years later when they ran into each other in a beer garden. Brian looked at Leslie and said, “So, when can we start planning our wedding?” Leslie’s response: “No way creepy guy!” But, not all was lost, as they exchanged numbers before the end of the night. Soon enough, the creepy guy became the perfect guy, and here we are today; Brian’s prediction came true! And it should be — their energy together is perfect, and we’re honored they invited us to share their big day with them. Congrats Leslie & Brian!
Meet Miriam and Matt. For their engagement shoot, we met early in the morning at the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco, where Matt told us the story of his unique proposal to Miriam. As the story goes, Matt placed a ring inside a hand puppet, with the plan for Miriam to insert her hand, and suddenly find herself sporting a ring! How cute! It obviously worked, as evidenced by the photo shoot below. Congrats Miriam and Matt! We look forward to your big day in November!
It was a wonderfully creative plan. Step one: find an vintage photo booth. Step two: create a photo strip with the words “Will You Marry Me” on it. Step three: the next day, hide the photo strip in one pocket, a ring in the other, and bring along with the girl of your dreams in hand. Step four: “happen upon” the photo booth with the line “hey, this looks fun, let’s take our photos!” ready. And finally: steathfully place yesterdays photo strip into the machine. This amazing plan went slightly awry when Vanessa exited the photobooth, picked up the “proposal” photo strip and said, “Hey – this isn’t us! Where are our photos?” Turning around, she saw Brad on one knee, asking her to take a closer look at the photo.
From that moment on, the school teacher was engaged to the firefighter. So for their engagement shoot, a trip back to the vintage Musée Mécanique was perfectly paired with a visit to the SF Fire Department Museum (which to match, we’ll call “Musée de Caserne de Pompiers de San Francisco”). Where else could a firefighter and his lady enjoy sitting in a fire truck from 1923 and look so good doing it! Congratulations Vanessa and Brad! We’ll be rockin’ your wedding with you soon!
Meghan and John joke that by being partners in crime, if they had to use their “one phone call” to get out of trouble, they’d likely discover that the person they were calling was in the jail cell next to them. With that kind of bond, they decided upon a location a bit different for their engagement shoot. They wanted buildings with unique architecture, gardens, and good views of San Francisco, and there is one spot “in the city” that combines a bit of all of that… The Rock. With a lucky fog-free day, we hopped on a boat and headed over to do their engagement shoot at none other than Alcatraz Island. They are a great couple with an even greater streak of creativity, which made for fun photos. Congrats Meghan and John – we look forward to your wedding later this summer!
